I fell in love with Turkey culture, cuisine, and, most of all, people. I was stationed there from 1987-88 and, although it's been a while, I have been trying to follow the country's news, as well as learn its language. I would be interested in meeting someone with a Turkish background and is willing to help me further my interest in the country. My favorite Turkish actress, by the way, is Hulya Avsar. I was fortunate to see her perform In Istanbul on my last night in-country. A couple of my favorite songs from that time are both from Ibrahim Tatlises: "Hulya" (not surprisingly!) and "Allah Allah." As for me, I teach and tutor English at the local community college. I love to read and write. In fact, the major emphasis of both my undergraduate and graduate studies was in poetry. I also enjoy swimming and riding my bicycle for exercise. The picture of me a soccer uniform is from 1982/83 when I played for a local community college. The other photographs are of me when I was stationed in Erzurum, 1988, and of me and my two children in 2011, and with my Turkish friend, Sinan, whom I meant in Flagstaff, Arizona, during one of the robotics tournaments my children were involved in. :)
